Terms and Conditions

These are the terms for using thecompassalehouse.co.uk. Using the site means accepting them. They are short because the site is simple.

Who runs this site

The Compass Alehouse, 7 Manor Road, Gravesend, Kent DA12 1AA.

What is on the bar

The drinks pages say what we have on. Cask beer in particular does not last: a cask has a short life once it is tapped, and what is on the board changes constantly, sometimes within a day. We update the site as often as we can, but a beer shown here may already have gone by the time you arrive, and one that is not here may have come on. Nothing on these pages is an offer or a promise that a particular drink will be available.

Prices shown are what we charged when the page was written. They can change.

Accounts and ratings

If you make an account you are responsible for what is done with it, so keep the password to yourself. Score drinks honestly, as your own opinion. We may remove a rating, or close an account, if it is being used to distort the scores or to be offensive. We do not have to explain a removal, and you can ask us why.

You can close your account whenever you like by writing to us.

We do not sell anything through this site

There is no online ordering and no payment on this site. Drink is sold across the bar, in person, to people old enough to buy it. We do not serve anyone under 18, and we will ask for identification if there is any doubt.

Links to other places

We link to breweries, distilleries and other people's pages so you can read more about what you are drinking. Those sites are theirs, not ours, and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Our words and pictures

The writing, photographs and design on this site belong to us, or are used with permission. Please do not copy them for your own commercial use without asking. Brewery names, pump clips and logos belong to those breweries and are shown so you can recognise what is on the bar.

When the site is not working

We keep it running as best we can, but we cannot promise it will always be available or always correct. If something on it is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.
