DS Tayman Caol Isla 12yo Flam Barrel finish 46%

Independent bottlers, DS Tayman have ben ageing whisky in their own sourced whisky barrels for over 20 years. Their present range, batch 2, is aged in Israeli family owned Flam winery barrels for a distinctive fruity flavour. A lovely change from the ever present Bourbon aged vanilla whiskies which dominate the market at present.

How does it taste?
Nose: Dark chocolate and smoke and fresh ground coffee .
Palate: Slightly tart fruit notes, wafts of gentle smoke and again coffee
Finish: A smoky finish, some brininess, sea air and a hint chocolate and coffee.

Why did I choose this whisky?

This has been a stand out whisky during the online tastings I have done this last year, more people have bought this whisky after a tasting than any other, and it has been in some exalted company! I have held back until we opened to share it and enjoy it in company.
