Left Handed Giant has brewed in Bristol since 2015, founded by Rich Poole, Bruce Gray and Jack Granger, who began on a 200 litre kit at Small Bar before building their own brewery and taproom at St Philips in 2017. Money raised from more than fifteen hundred local shareholders funded a second site, the brewpub at Finzels Reach, which opened in 2019 in a former compressor building that had stood empty for twenty years. The beers are modern pale ales, IPAs and lagers, alongside alcohol-free and gluten-free ranges.
